III. Zhao Xiangling
Zhao Xiangling is a Senior Engineer with 37 years of experience in the oil-refining industry. She has long worked on the refining production front line and is thoroughly familiar with the engineering knowledge of the major process units, auxiliary units, and utility systems in refining. She brings extensive grassroots production-management experience and plant-wide production coordination capability, and excels particularly in technical revamping — drawing on solid practical and theoretical grounding to identify production problems quickly and propose sound, workable solutions.
[Asphalt production expertise] From 1993 to 1997, as Deputy Director of the Crude Distillation (CDU) Workshop of the Petrochemical General Plant, she led workers in producing Grade 100#-A road asphalt from Binnan blended crude oil. In September 2014 she led Tianyu Company’s staff in producing premium 70#-A and 90#-A high-grade road asphalt from Merey (Marui) crude oil (Tianyu CDU). In August 2015, as Senior Consultant to Xinjiang Mingyuan Petrochemical, she directed the company in producing premium 90#-A high-grade road asphalt from heavy oil of the Xinjiang Xinchun Oilfield.
[Career] Over 37 years she progressed from mastering the fundamentals of each production process to becoming fully proficient in the principles and operation of the major process and auxiliary units. She took part as an operator in the start-up of a 1.2-million-ton/year CDU and a 200,000-ton/year catalytic cracking unit; as technical advisor in the start-up of the 500,000-ton/year new CDU of the Hekou Oil Production Plant; and as general start-up commander she organized the start-up of the 100,000-ton/year new gas separation unit of the Petrochemical General Plant (2004), Dezhou Huatai’s 300,000-ton/year asphalt unit (2008), Tianyu Petrochemical’s 30,000-ton dry-gas aromatization unit (2010), Tianyu Petrochemical’s 40,000-ton MTBE unit (2013), and Xinjiang Mingyuan Petrochemical’s 200,000-ton/year asphalt unit (2015) — all started up successfully on the first attempt with fully qualified products. As Deputy General Dispatcher she organized the start-up of the Petrochemical General Plant’s 150,000-ton/year new reforming unit; as technical consultant she took part in two emergency repairs and start-ups of Tianyu’s 20,000-ton/year MTBE unit. She also reviewed and made major improvements to the process package for producing propylene and gasoline via C4 disproportionation at a petrochemical enterprise at Dongying Port and to the C4 aromatization process package of Henan Yongsheng Chemical; and reviewed the C4 aromatization process package of Henan Zhongbo Petrochemical and authorized the use of core proprietary technology.
[Key achievements]
Organized the drafting of the “CDU Operating Procedures” and the “Petrochemical General Plant Production Dispatch Manual,” and took part in drafting the “Catalytic Cracking Unit Operating Procedures.”
As a key participant, contributed to the revamping of the Petrochemical General Plant’s CDU, gas fractionation unit, and dual-circuit power supply system; to the industrial test of producing high-speed asphalt from Gudao crude oil; and to organizing the trial production of 93# gasoline.
As a technical backbone and expert, took part in the trial commissioning, revamping, and acceptance of the 500,000-ton/year atmospheric unit at the Shengli Oilfield Hekou Stabilization Station, and in the preliminary design review of the 100,000-ton/year gas separation unit of Shenghai Chemical.
